To put it the way one of her top commenters did, Kate Beckinsale seems to be aging backward. It’s hard to believe that the actress and model is pushing 50 when she’s constantly posting gorgeous shots of herself glammed up or even glammed down, just living her best life alongside her photogenic cat, Clive. In her latest post, which you can see below, the actress is absolutely serving not only a look but an entire vibe.

Clad in a red, white, black, and gray pinstriped suit combo, Kate Beckinsale tops the look off with chunky high heels and a black face net veil with a giant bow on top. Without fully revealing my own age, (Beckinsale could buy cigarettes when I was born), my knees hurt looking at the actress’ pose. Crouching down, the Click star kicks one leg out in front while leaning on the other all while acting her face off – giving the appearance that someone is after her. Looking shocked, Beckinsale stares off to the side of the camera at someone or something off-screen that’s giving her the terror of a lifetime. A second photo reveals a closer look at that classy face netting and the model’s flawless skin. 

As we mentioned above, Kate Beckinsale is constantly sharing her life with her followers. Whether it’s a birthday party for her Pomeranian pup, Myf, posing with one of her uber fluffy cats, or casually striking a pose in a designer outfit on a weekday, Beckinsale leaves no stone unturned. Followers truly get an all-access pass to the actress’ life, something that many celebs can’t claim to be true for themselves.

With a lengthy career in acting, Kate Beckinsale had her huge breakthrough role in 2001’s Pearl Harbor. A blockbuster hit, the film featured an absolutely stacked cast including the likes of Ben Affleck, Josh Hartnett, Alec Baldwin, Jennifer Garner, and Cuba Gooding Jr. It was a career-changing move for many of its young stars, including Beckinsale who would nab roles in Serendipity and Tiptoes just two years following the WWII epic. Sticking to well-casted films, Beckinsale would next check a huge dream off her list when she starred in legendary director Martin Scorsese’s drama flick, The Aviator, opposite Leonardo DiCaprio, and Cate Blanchett. Taking to the funnier side of the film industry she would next star alongside Adam Sandler in Click. 

During the earlier days of her film career, Kate Beckinsale would nab the leading role of Selene in the Underworld franchise. Signing on for a five-film series certainly kept the actress busy up until the final installment landed in 2016. With a slew of even more credits under her belt, in recent days she starred in the television series, Guilty Party. The Paramount+ series saw Beckinsale as a down-on-her-luck journalist who hopes to breathe new life into her career as she follows a high-profile case in which a woman has been sentenced to life in prison for murdering her husband. 

Up next for the actress, she’ll be stepping into the role of a CIA agent named Avery Graves in Canary Black. Directed by Pierre Morel, the film will center around Kate Beckinsale’s Graves as she clashes with a terrorist agency that’s blackmailing her. The terrorists are holding her husband hostage and she only has one shot at saving him – by getting in touch with her underbelly crime roots. The film is eyeing a production start date later this year.

Though she wouldn’t melt in it like vampires in other franchises, the Kate Beckinsale character Selene from the Underworld films isn’t a big fan of light. It’s a good thing for the rest of us that the same can’t be said of the real Beckinsale. As the actress is proving today, she looks amazing in just about any light.

Early on Monday, Kate Beckinsale posted a shot of herself to her official Instagram account. The photo shows her in platform boots, shorts, and a white top. She holds up two interesting looking objects which glow with a bright purple light. You can see the shot below.

The Underworld star has loads of sexy snaps on her Insta but few are quite as, well… purple. Speaking of Underworld, as recently as last year Kate Beckinsale has shown interest in returning to her signature action role but told Variety she doesn’t think an Underworld 6 is in the cards. The fact that the last film entry — 2016’s Underworld: Blood Wars — marked a franchise low as far as box office sales are concerned ($81.1 million, per Box Office Mojo) likely has something to do with the series’ stagnation.

At the same time, Kate Beckinsale did confess to hoping her character would get the chance to lock horns with a famous Marvel hero. She told Variety, “I really wanted them to do an Underworld–Blade mashup. What a duo that would be.” At the time she also seemed to unintentionally confirm that she had spoken to Marvel Studios about it. “I think they just wanted to reboot Blade as Blade so they didn’t go for it.” Beckinsale says she still knows exactly where Selene’s famous black leather pants are and confirmed she can still fit in them.

She may not be fighting vampires, vampire hunters, or werewolves any time soon, but that doesn’t mean Kate Beckinsale has left the action genre behind. In May, Deadline reported that Beckinsale will play blacklisted CIA Agent Avery Graves in Canary Black. When terrorists kidnap her husband, Graves betrays her own country to get the intel the kidnappers are demanding to keep her husband alive. Canary Black will be directed by Pierre Morel, who helmed the instant action classic Taken, from a script by Matthew Kennedy (Inheritance).

Kate Beckinsale has a number of exciting screen projects on the way, including Charlie Day‘s upcoming feature directorial debut. Formerly titled El Tonto, Day has given the film a new, unrevealed name as well as embarked on extensive reshoots. When it finally bows, the movie will feature an impressive ensemble cast including Day playing himself, Beckinsale, John Malkovich, Jason Sudeikis, Katherine McNamara, Adrien Brody, Ray Liotta, Edie Falcon, and more.

Expected out some time this year is Prisoner’s Daughter, in which Kate Beckinsale will take on the role of the daughter of a newly released convict, played by Brian Cox (Succession). In spite of all the action fare Beckinsale is known for, ironically it was while filming the upcoming drama that her back gave out, forcing her to experience pain that she described as, “worse than having a baby bad, like bad.”

‘Sexy Beast’ Prequel Series at Paramount+ Finds Its Leads as Main Cast Fills Out - Variety

The “Sexy Beast” prequel series at Paramount+ has found its cast, Variety has learned.

The original U.K. drama will star James McArdle (“Mare of Easttown,” “Angels in America) as Gal Dove and Emun Elliott (“The Rig,” “The Gold) as Don Logan, the roles played by Ray Winstone and Ben Kingsley respectively in the original 2000 film.

The show follows Gal and Don as best friends and small-time thieves living the good life in ‘90s East London. The series will explore Gal and Don’s complicated relationship as Gal finds himself descending into the seductive madness of the London criminal world during the vibrant and volatile 1990s, while falling in love with DeeDee.

Sarah Greene (“Dublin Murders,” “Normal People”) is Deedee, a captivating adult film star, who has the potential to turn Gal’s whole life upside down. DeeDee was played by Amanda Redman in the film

Stephen Moyer (“Shots Fired,” “True Blood”) is Teddy Bass, a rising name in the gangster world, who Gal and Don are offered the chance to work with on a high-profile heist. Ian McShane originated the role of Bass in the film. Tamsin Greig (“Episodes,” “Friday Night Dinner”) is Don’s stern and formidable older sister, Cecilia.

Other cast members include: Eliza Bennett (“Dynasty”), Clea Martin (“Hanna”), Nicholas Nunn (“The Victim”), John Dagleish (“The Third Day”), Robbie Gee (“Motherland”), Paul Kaye (“The Stranger”), Lex Shrapnel (“Infiniti”), Cally Lawrence (“Who Is Alice”), David Kennedy (“Hollyoaks”), Nitin Ganatra (“EastEnders”), and Alice Bailey Johnson (“This Is Going to Hurt”).

Production on the series is now underway in Liverpool. Variety exclusively reported in February that the show had been ordered as part of Paramount+’s international slate after it was previously scrapped at Paramount Network in 2020.

The series hails from writer, showrunner, and executive producer Michael Caleo. Daniel O’Hara also executive produces and directs multiple episodes. Sophie Gardiner and Rupert Ryle-Hodgesare executive producers for Chapter One Pictures alongside Nicole Clemens. David Scinto and Louis Mellis, the writers of the original film, also serve as executive producers with James Levison onboard as producer. The series is produced by Chapter One, Anonymous Content, and VIS, the international studio division of Paramount Global.

“I feel so fortunate to be able to explore these beautifully crafted characters a decade before we met them in the original story,” said Caleo. “This series has been a great passion of mine for many years and I cannot wait to see it come to life with this amazing cast.”
