Sarah Michelle Gellar is keeping the summer vibes going well into winter!
On Tuesday, the actress, 46, jokingly explained the reason why she'd been a bit off the radar over the holiday season. It seems she was enjoying a tropical getaway, where she wore a parade of stylish swimsuits.
"If I’ve left you unread…. Here is why. Vacation photo dump part one," she captioned an Instagram post featuring a carousel of pictures documenting her fun in the sun.
She kicked off with a shot of herself in an orange belted tank-style swimsuit and a wide-brimmed hat. Another image captured her looking up into the camera, with her eyes hidden behind a pair of oversized black sunglasses. This time, she wore a '60s-inspired floral-print two-piece suit.
In another photo, the Buffy the Vampire Slayer alum sported a different bikini featuring a ruffled top with a citrusy print of lemons and oranges. She also posed for an ocean-view snapshot at sunset in white denim cut-off shorts and a navy blue eyelet blouse with puffed sleeves. Gellar wore her hair styled in a sleek bun and accessorized with flower-shaped earrings.
The mom of two — she and husband Freddie Prinze Jr. share daughter Charlotte, 14, and son Rocky, 11 — also dug into some books during her vacation. Her photo carousel included a shot of an icy fruit drink next to a hardcover copy of Rebecca Yarros' fantasy novel Fourth Wing. Gellar also brought along the Lisa Unger thriller The New Couple in 5B.

It appears Gellar was joined on her holiday getaway by a few friends. On Wednesday, she posted "vacation dump #2" on Instagram, including a photo of her and Rebecca Gayheart Dane posing with their arms around each other in their swimsuits. Another image showed her and Prinze, 47, having dinner with another couple.
The carousel also featured a rare family snapshot of Gellar, Prinze and their two kids by a cluster of palm trees.
Back in October, Gellar reminisced to PEOPLE about another memorable vacation she once took — although, this one was a bit more offbeat.
“When I was younger, I stayed in a haunted room at the Hotel del Coronado," Gellar revealed, referring to the Coronado, Calif., beach resort that opened in 1888. "Years ago, you used to be able to ask for that room and stay in there."
Despite the eerie ambience, Gellar's stay turned out to be surprisingly uneventful. “Yeah. My weird experience was that I slept through the night. I slept great," she jokingly recalled.
