If you're looking for something more potent than a 2024 Mustang GT but don't like the Dark Horse, Saleen might have the answer to your prayers

Famed American tuner Saleen has always been known for their souped-up Ford Mustangs, and now they’ve worked their magic on the latest S650 generation with the 302 White Label.
The most noticeable change is the front bumper, which has been completely reworked with improved airflow in mind. Gone are the gaping intakes of the GT and the black plastic surrounds of the Dark Horse. Instead, Saleen has opted for a more subtle, balanced look with a chiseled jaw and a clearly defined partition between the upper and lower half. Whether or not the styling is “Mustang-y” enough is up to you, but we feel it looks like a classier version of the Dark Horse.

Out back, a large, flat rear decklid spoiler joins a Saleen-badged trunk, which is complemented by yellow accents running along the diffuser and rear side winglets. These accents continue down the new side skirts into the front lip, and they also show up in the grille and interior stitching. On the topic of the interior, it receives Saleen badging on the steering wheel and shifter, a functional grab handle, as well as a surround for the gauge cluster and infotainment screens to better integrate them into the dash.
The styling of this car isn’t the only thing it has in common with the Dark Horse, though, as Saleen also bumped the 5.0L V8’s output from 480 hp (487 PS / 358 kW) to 510 hp (517 PS / 380 KW), putting it 10 hp (10 PS / 7 kW) ahead of Ford‘s current range-topping pony car. The car also sports Gen 5 Racecraft suspension, as well as Saleen brakes and wheels to ensure it stays steady through the corners. Additionally, the White Label’s $61,990 MSRP puts it right in line with the Dark Horse’s starting price of $61,510 after taxes and fees.

“This 302 White Label (2024) is the most comprehensive design ever for our 302 White Label. There is a lot to like about the new S650 platform,” said founder Steve Saleen. “Much has been said about this model, and we addressed it. We are quite proud of the end result.”
If you’re in the market for even more performance, Saleen will almost certainly be releasing Yellow Label and Black Label versions of the S650 down the line, which should be good for at least a few hundred extra ponies if the last generation is anything to go off of.
