How Sexy Is Sampling Right Said Fred's 'I'm Too Sexy'? - Vulture

Fred and Richard Fairbass, of Right Said Fred. Photo: Tim Roney/Getty Images

They are those eternal, evergreen words, handed down from song to song as if sent from the heavens above: “I’m too sexy for my shirt, so sexy it hurts.” That ancient proverb, of course, is courtesy of English duo Right Said Fred and their 1991 anthem “I’m Too Sexy.”

A delightfully narcissistic track dedicated to self-empowerment (at least, that’s one read on it), the band’s novelty ode to shaking little tushes dominated the culture upon release, hitting number one in several countries and catapulting brothers Richard and Fred Fairbrass to the front of public consciousness. In 2022, their imprint on the cultural zeitgeist is surprisingly profound: In the past year, we’ve heard that refrain interpolated on Drake’s chart-topper “Way 2 Sexy,” and once again on “Alien Superstar” off of Beyoncé’s latest record, Renaissance.

On the heels of Bey’s take, here’s (mostly) every interpolation of the “I’m too sexy for [INSERT THING HERE]” riff, ranked by how sexy it really is.

TOO SEXY

“Alien Superstar,” Beyoncé

In this album standout, Beyoncé’s role as ethereal Virgo goddess is on full display. Almost all of Renaissance is an ode to the self, so it’s only fitting that a song that contains instantly quotable lines like “category: bad bitch, I’m the bar” interpolates the most quotable tribute to the self there is. “I’m too classy for this world,” she sings, over sweeping synthesizers and Honey Dijon production. It’s Beyoncé, so we believe her, but the lines are flipped so well that they’d land no matter who managed to sing them.

“Look What You Made Me Do,” Taylor Swift

One of the most creative uses of the original, and perhaps a favorite. On “Look What You Made Me Do,” Taylor throws both of the Fairbrass brothers a writing credit for the chorus of her monster hit. Unlike the others on this list, it doesn’t lift any of the lyrics; it’s the simple cadence that Swift uses, which could’ve maybe gone under the radar if it wasn’t for her and eternal Good Guy Jack Antonoff throwing the duo a bone. It’s also a favorite of Right Said Fred’s: In their Rolling Stone interview, Fred Fairbass said, “I like the cynical aspect of the lyric [in “Look What You Made Me Do”], because ‘I’m Too Sexy’ is a cynical song, and I think she channeled that quite well.”

“Too Cocky,” YG

Hip-hop’s use of Right Said Fred tends to skew towards extremes, either being incredibly fitting or terribly misplaced (as seen later down the list). Thankfully, YG’s take from his third studio album, Stay Dangerous, belongs to the former. The original’s inherent swagger is part of the charm; the duo’s cockiness is something YG effortlessly harnesses. “I’m too cocky for my shirt … too cocky, I know my worth.” Exactly, king!

“Hepatic Portal,” Nmesh

Contrary to most of the other entries on the list, electronic producer Nmesh uses a sample of “I’m Too Sexy” for the 2017 track “Hepatic Portal.” Without the help of whosampled.com, the clips might not stand out to an untrained ear, but a dedicated Fred-head would recognize the deep, reverberating voice next to Katy Perry and an obscure Dr. Seuss film. If you’ve ever listened to an Against All Logic record and clocked the samples in real time, this one’s right up your alley.

“More Than Money,” Kooley High

Kooley High’s “More Than Money” came out only four years ago, but would fit perfectly with the breezy, Wiz Khalifa–adjacent blog rap of the late 2000s and early 2010s. There’s an easiness to it, an immaculately produced track with a sauntering bass line; when the Right Said Fred interpolation comes almost three minutes into the track, it’s done with such a playfulness that you can hear rapper Charlie Smarts smiling on the other side. It’s silly, reflecting the ethos of the original.

KINDA SEXY

“Get Sexy,” Sugababes

This one kind of straddles the line of categories here — I’m not nearly as familiar with the Sugababes as I should be (sorry, Brits) and most of the song is giving C-tier Danity Kane. However, despite whatever Right Said Fred intended the song to be — tongue-in-cheek, self-serious, or otherwise — they always have fully devoted themselves to the bit. On this track, the Sugababes follow suit, aided by the Smeezingtons’ writing and production.

“Neva Faded” — Lords of the Underground feat. Supreme C
The only reason “Neva Faded” isn’t higher is because the interpolation is only found in one line. At the end of the first verse, Mr. Funke passes it off to the chorus with “I’m out (Why?) ’Cause I’m too sexy for this song.” For the sake of discussion, it counts.

“Alive,” Kato & Electric Lady Lab

Right Said Fred has come to embody a certain kind of danceable Eurotrash over the years. On “Alive,” Danish DJ Kato incorporates the actual vocals of the Fairbrass brothers in a song that is exactly that: hollow yet danceable European club music. In a way, it represents a facet of the song that is continually glossed over: its cheesiness!

“Keenon Jackson,” YG

Six years before “Too Cocky” was released, YG tackled the same lyrics on “Keenon Jackson.” Produced by Mustard, the track doesn’t leave much of an impact and includes some unsavory lines about Asian women.

“Too Cocky,” Guapdad 4000

Though the title might suggest otherwise, the Guapdad 4000 song is not a remix nor an homage to the excellent YG version. It even came out eight days before Stay Dangerous. Both tracks share a refrain — “I’m too cocky” — but the similarities end there. It’s perfectly a fine take; but when put next to YG, it can’t compare. Apologies to Guapdad 4000; maybe he heard “Keenon Jackson” and decided to put his own spin on things?

NOT SEXY AT ALL

“Way 2 Sexy,” Drake, Future, Young Thug

Extremely, indubitably unsexy. Right Said Fred’s song is camp; to strip that all away in favor of drowsy, meandering algorithm bait removes all the character embodied in the original “I’m Too Sexy.” It doesn’t deserve the direct sample at the top, and almost certainly doesn’t deserve lines like “I’m way too sexy to go unprotected.” The video also doesn’t do it any favors. The OVO team is consistently excellent when it comes to making samples work; it’s even worse, then, that “Way 2 Sexy” is that charmless.

“Batshit,” Sofi Tukker

So, we’ve spent a lot of time debating sexiness, but part of the beauty of the original song is that it’s not sexy. Fred and Richard Fairbrass spend so much time talking about how attractive they are in their daily lives that it takes on the opposite desired effect: horseshoeing around into being incredibly unsexy. They even say this in their Rolling Stone interview: “‘Sexy’ was not really making fun of those people, but making fun of people who thought they were those people.” It doesn’t seem like Sofi Tukker understands this. On “Batshit,” the duo anchors the track around an interpolation, effectively trying to make the song sexy to honor the material. It doesn’t work.

“Too Sexy,” Inna

Something about this is so annoying to me. “Too Sexy” fits somewhere between an Ibiza party anthem and Old Navy commercial-core. The last minute and a half repeats over and over, “I’m too sexy for your love.” As shown by this list, there are so many good ways to spin that line, so why must the one Inna lands on be so boring?

“Les Anticipateurs,” Paradis

If someone can explain Quebecois rap to me I would appreciate it.

“My Testicles,” Ariel and Efrim

Okay, this fits into the “not sexy” category with a caveat: It’s supposed to be that way. In this digital short from season 31 of Saturday Night Live, Andy Samberg and Tom Hanks are the duo Ariel and Efrim, a tribute both in appearance and spirit to the members, and vibe, of Right Said Fred. “Please don’t cut off their testicles,” they beg — incredibly, delightfully unsexy.

Heidi Klum's Daughter Leni Attend UNICEF Benefit In Sexy Spaghetti Strap Dress - ELLE

On Saturday, the UNICEF ball in Capri, Italy, saw a lot of celebrity guests and that included model Leni Klum, daughter to the famous super model Heidi Klum. A sense of style seems to run in the family, because Leni showed up wearing an absolutely stunning spaghetti strap dress with a sexy plunging neckline that showcased her décolletage.

The piece was made from a flower lace pattern overlay with a nude slip beneath. The dress ended in a black fringe around her ankles and she paired the dress with a black open-toed, strapped sandals. She left her long brown hair down and wore a simple makeup look that emphasized her natural beauty.

Leni was born to her famous mother in 2004 with her partner at the time, Flavio Briatore. She was adopted by her stepdad, the musician Seal, in 2005.

The UNICEF event was intended to raise money for children in the Ukraine, and featured a performance from Jennifer Lopez. The 18-year-old made her debut in Vogue Germany's January/February 2021 with her mother. She's already worked with brands like Superga, Michael Kors, and Dolce & Gabbana, wlking in the latter's show in Sicily last month.

She also walked in the 2021 Dolce & Gabbana’s Alta Moda show in Venice’s St. Mark’s Square.

“I honestly wasn’t that nervous. I sort of just winged it,” Klum told ELLE at the time, mentioning the Swarovski-encrusted crown she wore during her walk. “I was scared it was going to fall off, so they ended up sewing it to my hair.”

Leni says the designers handled all the adjustments by hand. She also said she had been wanting to model since she was 12-years-old, but added, “My mom wouldn’t let me.”

Ayo Edebiri Does Not Think 'The Bear' Is Sexy - The Cut

Photo: Frazer Harrison/WireImage

If you were anywhere near a screen this summer, you may have developed a crush on a certain artfully tattooed chef who captured the hearts and loins of every straight woman with a Hulu account. While FX’s The Bear introduced us to Carmy (Jeremy Allen White), a discourse-laden collection of red flags, it also introduced us to Sydney, his ambitious new sous-chef played by comedian Ayo Edebiri. The only employee readily willing to abide by Carmy’s new rule that everyone call each other “chef” as a sign of respect, Sydney comes to his newly inherited sandwich shop out of reverence for his work — which quickly becomes mixed with barely contained rage at his stubborn insistence that the staff do everything his way.

Edebiri was not someone I expected to see in The Bear. She’s spent the past few years circulating the alt-comedy stand-up scene, and I first knew her as the co-host of Iconography, a podcast where she and writer Olivia Craighead used their extensive movie knowledge to examine whether various Hollywood figures were indeed iconic. She made her official entrée into television as Hattie in the second season of Dickinson, and then last year, she took over the role of Big Mouth’s Missy, a terminally horny tween who writes fanfiction about Nathan Fillion. (Missy, who is Black and Jewish, was recast in 2020 amid backlash at the fact that she was voiced by white actor Jenny Slate.)

On paper, The Bear’s premise is ripe for darkly comedic moments that Edebiri could nail as a comedian, but she plays her arc mostly straight. Instead of adding levity, she fills The Bear with emotionally charged moments of genuine connection that stand out between its rapid-fire cuts of kitchen chaos. In some ways, Sydney is a stand-in for the audience, demonstrating what it would actually be like to witness this shitshow of a kitchen, and Edebiri’s frequent “how the fuck did I end up here?” face nails that feeling. But she’s just as much a part of that dysfunction as an observer of it, and, like Carmy, she zigzags between being entirely insufferable and worthy of rooting for. The Cut spoke to Edebiri about prepping for the show, Boston cuisine, and having strong feelings about the new Elvis movie.

It was exciting to see you move into a more straightforward drama than I’ve seen you do before. Were you looking to make that pivot when you joined the show?

I don’t think intentionally there was any thought of, I’m at X place in my career and I need to do Y. It was more that I really responded to the script and the writing, and thought it would be exciting and challenging. I didn’t necessarily feel the challenge of, Oh, I’ve never done anything serious. In comedy there’s a lot of drama, and in drama there’s a lot of comedy. The two meet more than the word “genre” might indicate.

You and your co-star, Jeremy Allen White, trained at the Institute of Culinary Education and a handful of high-end restaurant kitchens after filming the pilot. What was the hardest thing to nail?

When we first started, I was more confident and more versed than Jeremy because I’ve cooked for myself. I can throw down, but on a day-to-day basis it’s more like, we’re adding peas and a little bacon to the Annie’s mac and cheese. That’s where I shine. In the pilot, I had to cut a cartouche really quickly, which is a circular piece of wax paper that’s used to trap steam, and I wasted so much wax paper trying to get it into a perfect circle. The biggest focus [of our] training was knife skills.

I was really worried for your fingers all season long, so I’m glad you had those mastered.

Yeah, one of my best friends’ moms was like, “Tell Ayo I don’t think this is safe.”

I’m sorry, but we do have to talk about how Jeremy Allen White’s presence in this show spawned lots of horny tweets. Not to put you on the spot, but what did you think of all that?

He’s got those blue eyes! I don’t know. People on the internet are into it, I’m happy for him, and it’s good for us. I don’t think I evoke that, where just a picture of his face causes somebody to divulge a very jarring memory. Or fantasy. It’s hard to say which. But he’s handling it like a champ.

There’s also some debate on whether your character, Sydney, and Carmy should get together. What are your thoughts on their dynamic?

Sydney really looks up to Carmy. She comes to the restaurant for him, she wants to work for him and learn from him because she was so moved by the food he made and wants to be able to do that one day. They have a complicated relationship. There’s a lot of places where they understand each other and where they meet, especially in terms of their background and their focus. But obviously they have very different personality types and are from very different schools of thought. As an actor it’s really fun getting to see where those tensions meet and play with Jeremy in that way.

I don’t personally think there’s anything romantic there! I don’t think the show is a sexual one. These people don’t have … very robust personal lives. They’re devoted to their jobs. If anything happened between Sydney and Carmy, nobody would be happy. It would be disappointing and jarring and weird. I don’t think people actually want that.

You are famously from Boston. What is the most Boston food?

I don’t know if the city of Boston would agree, but thank you. I have a theory that Dunkin’ Donuts tastes better in Boston. I have nothing to base this off of besides my own emotions. I’ll go to a Dunkin’ anywhere, but when people say, “Eh, Dunkin’ is okay,” I’m, like, “You just gotta go to Boston. Let me show you how good it is.” In my heart of hearts, the America that I love still runs on Dunkin’. Boston also has really good Jamaican and Vietnamese food.

I know from your former podcast, Iconography, that you have a wealth of movie knowledge. Anything you’ve seen recently that you haven’t been able to get out of your head?

I think Austin Butler should win an Oscar for Elvis. You don’t have to see it, all you need to know is I’m correct. It’s one of the craziest movies I’ve ever seen and one of the most transcendent performances that’s ever been captured on film. He really gave it his all. I wanted to listen to “Hard Rock Café” or whatever — I don’t know a single Elvis song. But he did the damn thing. I don’t need to read any critical piece on Elvis because I’ve done all the thinking that needs to be done. I don’t know the man, and I have nothing to gain. He is just very good in Elvis.

Duly noted!

Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann — too sexy for his own good? - Bavarian Football Works

At a time where we see A LOT of odd stories, this one, well, it might take the big, sexy beefcake.

According to the JOYclub (where BFW staffers Teddy and Ineednoname would be turned away at the door....HEY-O!), Nagelsmann edged sexy fellows like wannabe hot ski instructor Edin Terzić and Joseph Gordon-Levitt doppelgänger Niko Kovač in overall sexiness. Here are the final numbers:

  • Nagelsmann: 15.7%
  • Terzić: 13.8%
  • Kovač: 9.9%

Here is some sexy context:

Above all, the fans of FC Bayern Munich are behind their coach. Every third fan of the club voted for Nagelsmann. An honor bestowed on only four other coaches in the 2022/23 season. One in six RB Leipzig fans also voted for him, confirming: The desire for the ex makes you forget even painful separations.

If you ask me, Steffen Baumgart and his Kangol hat got complete robbed.

BFW Analysis (what has my life come to?)

I don’t feel super-qualified to really rate the sex appeal of these coaches, but I will say that if Bayern Munich had released the infamous “99 Luftballoons” karaoke video (RELEASE THE TAPE!), Kovač would have likely won in a landslide.

Give Terzić a snowboard and he would be rolling in snowbunnies in no time as well.

As for Nagelsmann, I just keep picturing him doing this at the bar to throw out the vibe:

I cannot get this image out of my head. Just throw the head of ol’ Jules on that GIF and YOU KNOW it fits.

Moreover, I will be absolutely distraught if the Allianz Arena DJ is not bumping this at the first home match when Nagelsmann takes the pitch:

This also made me wonder if The Joy Club is compiling a list of Sexiest Bayern Munich-related website managers...would I make the cut? Who would my competition be? Do I need to grease up and breakout the ol’ hammock?

These are questions I need answered.

Anyway, who’s your Sexy Beast among Bundesliga managers? Tell us in the comments below...if you dare.

'Flashy & Sexy': Are Dallas Cowboys Roster-Building the Right Way? - Sports Illustrated

OXNARD, Calif. - Dallas Cowboys COO Stephen Jones get it - if by "it'' we mean the Cowboys Nation frustrations with the way the franchise has opted to "keep our powder dry'' as it regards present and future cap space.

The bigger question: Are the Jones-led Cowboys get it - "it'' being the best way to win a Super Bowl - right?

Said Stephen (via 105.3 The Fan): "There's no question when the (Los Angeles) Rams step up and do what they did and they win a Super Bowl ... their mantra was, 'get some big-name players,' who did show up for them in the postseason, then that becomes, 'Hey, look at the Rams. Look at what they did. Everyone needs to emulate it.'

"It's a copycat league … I get that. I understand our fans' (frustrations). What we're doing here is certainly not a flashy, sexy way.''

Correct. It is not.

The team's cap space, currently second in the NFL at just over $22.4 million (best in the NFC and behind only the $48 million-plus in Cleveland), was among the many topics addressed by Jerry and Stephen Jones in their first statements of the Cowboys training camp proceedings in Oxnard. The plan with that money: to make sure the future contracts for the likes of CeeDee Lamb, Micah Parsons and Trevon Diggs are doable.

And the Cowboys are aware that "signing our own'' is not viewed as "flashy and sexy.''

Scroll to Continue

No image description

Jones did hint that if Dallas found a way to use the money, the Cowboys would not hesitate to do so.

Said Stephen: "We certainly do have some dry powder if we need to use it. I’ve always said about cap space it’s where you’ve massaged it to that point. I mean, you can create cap space. ... But I do think we’re sitting in a good spot, one, to see what these young players can do, but, two, if we need to make improvements to this roster, and there’s opportunities to do that, then we’ll look at it.”

Owner Jerry Jones echoed his son's "dry powder" viewpoint but hinted that the cap space might prove to be an asset in the future ... with cap space rolling over.

"We've got a little dry powder (but) that’s not necessarily for this season," Jerry Jones said. "That cap room is for (the) future as well. We all know that. And, so, you sum all of that up. And you got our best shot today as we go. Tomorrow is another day and we, not that we have anything in mind, but I do believe in changing your mind and would in a second if it would help our team.”

See Alison Brie In A Sexy Red Dress For Latest Movie - Giant Freakin Robot

By David Harrison | Published

alison brie

Alison Brie might not be the first person you’d think of to grace the cover of a sultry romance novel, but when you see it put into practice it makes a ton of sense. That’s the case with some promotional work for his newest film which definitely is giving off that vibe even if it’s only a bit tongue-in-cheek. Over on Instagram, the actress posted a picture of the movie’s poster and it has her in a sexy red dress in the throes of a passionate moment. Does she look all that comfortable being there? Well, not really but that’s kind of the point. Alison Brie doesn’t see herself as the kind of person who would grace these grocery store novel covers, and therein lies the fun. Check out what Alison Brie posted on Instagram.

This is the poster and promotional art for Spin Me Round, the next movie for Alison Brie. The tag line for the flick says it is “Unbridled romance with a side of soup or salad” which really leaves the door open for a bunch of interpretations. Alison Brie finds herself in this position on the cover, looking none too comfortable because it appears her character is going to get into a bit of a mess for this movie. The flick is being advertised as a romantic comedy thriller and has Alison Brie’s Amber traveling to Europe on an all-expenses paid trip sponsored by the restaurant chain she’s working for. There she meets the company’s eccentric owner played by Alessandro Nivola (The Many Saints of Newark).

How this story with Alison Brie plays out is anyone’s guess but it’s likely that the owner, as well as the whole experience, goes off the rails in a hilarious fashion. With the thriller aspect tied to Spin Me Round’s description, we are probably in for a treat in which Alison Brie is trying to figure things out right along with the viewer. The movie also includes Aubrey Plaza and Molly Shannon among others. The film is being directed by Jeff Baena who is also married to Plaza. Brie and Baena have worked together previously on Little Hours and Horse Girl. Brie helped co-write the latter and she also helped pen this latest movie as well.

Alison Brie and company are set to release Spin Me Round on August 19th when it hits IFC and AMC+. The flick already debuted at SXSW earlier this spring. It’s currently sitting at 65% on Rotten Tomatoes through 17 reviews after the early screenings. Critics were mostly on board with Brie’s performance and the overall gestalt of the film. Though there were some complaints that it was a bit all over the place and didn’t mine quite the number of laughs one would think considering the comedy chops of the cast.

After Spin Me Round, we can next see Alison Brie in Somebody I Used to Know a romantic comedy co-starring Jay Ellis. The movie was written and directed by Brie’s husband Dave Franco.

See Elizabeth Hurley In A Sexy Flower Dress - Giant Freakin Robot

By Michileen Martin | Published

elizabeth hurley

Elizabeth Hurley can’t seem to do anything without looking absolutely scrumptious and we’re all richer for it. The Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery star is attending the Glorious Goodwood racing event in Qatar this week, and she shared a video of herself at the popular event on Instagram. Judging by what we can see in the video, it’s a good week to have Goodwood in your schedule.

The Bedazzled star posted the video on Wednesday, starting off with a shot of Elizabeth Hurley’s gorgeous smile. In between shots of racers and the crowds, we see Hurley in a boldly colored dress with a plunging neckline. Accompanying the video is “Sway (Quien Sera)” by Perez Prado & Rosemary Clooney. You can watch the video below.

Technically named Qatar Goodwood Festival, but more commonly known as Glorious Goodwood, the event Elizabeth Hurley is attending is a five day affair established over 200 years ago. Goodwood is considered one of the bigger events of British racing, with the competition enjoying a singular atmosphere and the track itself proving a more complex challenge for its racers.

Along with being a model and an actress, Elizabeth Hurley is also a business woman with her own eponymous line of swimwear. Wearing that many hats could account for why we haven’t seen Hurley on the screen as often as we used to. She played the Marvel villain Morgan le Fay in Runaways and before that played Queen Helena on E!’s soap The Royals. But since then her appearances have been relatively scarce. Hurley made a pilot called Welcome to Georgia for CBS, but the network passed on it.

Hopefully sometime in the not too distant future we’ll see Elizabeth Hurley in the romantic fantasy horror feature The Piper. Hurley plays American schoolteacher Liz Haines, who begins experiencing dark and troubling visions after she and her daughter move to Hamelin, Germany. Anthony Waller (An American Werewolf in Paris) stars in and directs the film, but it isn’t clear when we’ll get to see it. The film wrapped production in late 2020, with no premiere date yet released. Cyprus Times reports The Piper is expected to hit theaters some time this year, but without naming a specific date.

In the nineties, Elizabeth Hurley first became well known in the public for the company she kept. She was dating Hugh Grant, just as the actor’s name went big stateside after his appearance in Four Weddings and a Funeral. Hurley even stayed with Grant after the English actor made headlines for being arrested in 1995 for hiring a sex worker, though they would split five years later. Last year of Marc Maron’s WTF podcast (via The Daily Mail), Grant said he did it because he was in a bad mood after seeing a screening of one of his movies. Considering the woman whose company he risked, that had to be a really bad mood.

Jenna Bush Hager Ranted About “Sexy” Moment With Her Husband and Stunned 'Today' Fans - Good Housekeeping

Jenna Bush Hager doesn’t just give passionate rants to her co-star and bestie Hoda Kotb on the Today show.

On July 22, Jenna got honest with her guest co-star Justin Sylvester about a controversial text message during a special game of “He Said, She Said.” After discussing if “guys wearing shorts to the office” was appropriate, the game's wheel stopped on the topic of “U up?” texts. Jenna didn’t hesitate to give her two cents on the subject — but neither Justin nor Today fans watching the segment from home knew where she was going with her speech.

“I’ll just tell you something about a ‘u up?’ text,” Jenna said. “When you are married to somebody for an extended amount of time, you’re no longer texting in the middle of the night.”

This content is imported from Instagram. You may be able to find the same content in another format, or you may be able to find more information, at their web site.

She then demonstrated how her kids call out for them both. As viewers may know, Jenna and her husband, Henry Hager, have three children: Mila, Poppy and Hal. “You hear a child calling in the middle of the night from some distant place. You roll over and you elbow the person and you say, ‘You up? You up, let’s go!’ It’s very sexy,” the NBC star concluded.

As it turns out, folks tuning in from their living rooms noticed Justin’s expression change throughout the segment when he realized what Jenna was hinting at. Today fans also admitted that they were confused at first.

“Not where I saw this going! 😂,” one person wrote in Today’s Instagram comments. “Not at all! 😂,” another replied. “😂😂 the way Justin has a moment of panic and then relief and then, pretend like you’re dead 💀 😂😂😂 - I am in STITCHES!!!” a different fan said. “This is absolutely hysterical. You two have great chemistry,” a follower commented.

After realizing what Jenna was saying, Justin offered up unconventional advice that made everyone chuckle. “You shouldn’t have made the first move. You should have pretended you were dead, like a bear was coming,” he said. “You just pretend like you’re asleep that you’re not awake.”

All we have to say is ... LOL.

2022 is the year the summer suit officially got its sexy back - British GQ

Some of us were quick to assume that the Covid-19 had finally killed off the suit after the rise of streetwear had largely pushed it – and menswear’s smarter garments – out of favour. However, while the pandemic might have given rise to remote working culture and relaxed office dress codes forever, all it really meant for the suit is that it had to reinvent itself as a means to survive.

And so it has, as designers have stripped the starch and pulled the traditional tailoring template apart in a bid to restitch suiting in appealing new ways. These days, the most exciting ones in menswear are not the stiff and buttoned-up ones of yesteryear, the ones that made us all feel like corporate drones or cogs in a machine, but ones that would make us stand out. They are generously proportioned, provocative, cut from sumptuous fabrics and available in colours that’d make staunch suit loyalists roll in their graves. This season, the suit has officially got sexy.

All you have to do is look at the SS23 shows to see it. For Saint Laurent, creative director Anthony Vaccarello presented versions of the suit that possessed a silky fluidity to them: slouchy oversized jackets and lanky pants paired with gauzy tops that clung to the torso, or nothing at all so that oil-misted chests were on display. Over at Paul Smith, they were boxy, blousy and low-buttoned and had a jazz-age loucheness and looseness to them, while dutch designer Dries Van Noten took inspiration from the 1940s Zaous in Paris, and the Buffalo club scene in 1980s London - both establishments where loud, bodacious clothing dominated. The result: trousers of great sweeping proportions and blazers that were synched at the waist.

Watch the Fun, Sexy, Sporty Full Trailer For 'A League of Their Own' - Out Magazine

It’s time to play ball!

The first trailer for Amazon Prime Video’s upcoming A League of Their Own series has dropped, and we can’t wait to get out to the ballpark. Based on the classic movie, but going deeper into issues of race, gender, and sexuality, A League of Their Own was created by Abbi Jacobson and Will Graham and is coming this August to Prime Video. Let’s take a look at this new preview.

Right off the bat, we get a great look at what type of character series creator Abbi Jacobson will be playing. Her Idaho housewife Carson Shaw is running for a train, about to miss it when she jumps on at the last second. This is a go-getter and someone desperate to play.

Soon, we meet more of the players, including D’arcy Carden’s Greta and Melanie Fields’ Jo, who look inspired by Madonna and Rosie O’Donnell’s characters from the original film.

“Hey you, you’re clearly going to tryouts,” Jo says.

“She doesn’t look like that much competition,” a gorgeous Greta adds.

“I can be competition. I think,” Shaw replies.

Apart from Shaw, we also meet the series’ other lead, Max Chapman, a Black woman who wants to be a pitcher, played by Chanté Adams. When she shows up to try out, she’s rejected and told, “I don’t think you understand. This is the All-American League.”

“We’re pretty All-American,” she responds, before throwing a ball all the way across the field and into the stands. It’s another callback to the original movie, which had one scene where a Black woman similarly throws the ball better than anyone on the team actually can. But here, that woman is one of the protagonists.

Later in the trailer, we see Max trying out for a different team, one that requires her dressing up like a boy and getting a job at a factory. Adams shines in the trailer and looks like a breakout star.

“Peaches, I’d like to go through a few rules,” the team’s chaperone says, followed by a montage of the Peaches breaking all these rules. “Curfew is at 10pm sharp. No smoking, or drinking. No pants.” If this trailer is any indication, this is going to be one fun and wild team of ball players!

There’s also plenty of great baseball footage since this is a baseball show after all. And, of course, there’s some lesbianism! At the end of the trailer, we see some sapphic glances exchanged between Shaw and Greta, and even a quick glimpse at a scene of them holding hands!!

This really is going to be the gay baseball show of our dreams. This show is going places (including the Emmys) so get on board early!

A League of Their Own premieres its first three episodes on August 12 on Amazon Prime Video.

11 Sexy Pics of Queer Eye's Antoni to Celebrate His Anniversary - Pride.com

Antoni Porowski became a household name basically overnight after becoming the food and wine expert on Netflix’s Queer Eye.

In 2018, Netflix introduced the world to a brand-new Fab Five. Along with Porowski, the streaming giant introduced audiences to Bobby Berk (design expert), Jonathan Van Ness (grooming expert), Karamo Brown (culture and lifestyle expert), and Tan France (fashion expert). Overall, these five Queer Eye cast members became mainstream sensations immediately after appearing in the reboot.

Thankfully, Queer Eye was only the beginning for Porowski, who has expanded his career into several different ventures and joined numerous projects in Hollywood. For one, the Fab Five member has published two books so far: 2019’s Antoni in the Kitchen and 2021’s Antoni: Let’s Do Dinner. Porowski has also taken a dip into acting in projects such as The Pretenders, Queen, and the upcoming film Spoiler Alert: The Hero Dies.

Porowski has also been very successful in his personal life and recently celebrated a major milestone in his love life. As of July 2022, the Queer Eye star shared an Instagram post celebrating his three-year relationship anniversary with his boyfriend Kevin Harrington, who works as a creative director in New York City. “Here’s to three years of asking our friends to take way too many pics like these,” Porowski wrote in the caption.

After Ukraine, Even Sexy Startups Aren’t Ashamed of Military Ties - The Wall Street Journal

Even venture capitalists may learn to stop worrying and love the bomb.

Friday marked the end of the 2022 Farnborough International Airshow, where the global aviation industry gathered in full for the first time since the onset of the pandemic. Apart from a decent amount of orders for Boeing’s once-troubled 737 MAX and a lot of mulling over supply-chain delays, the event was notable for a subtle shift: Aerospace startups no longer feel the need to whisper when talking about their military potential.

Denver-based venture Boom Supersonic, which aims to revive the Concorde with greater comfort and lower fares, announced a collaboration with Northrop Grumman to find defensive use cases for the plane. Boom already had agreements with the U.S. Air Force to potentially transport diplomats and leaders. Previously, though, the company’s founder and chief executive, Blake Scholl, who comes from the technology industry, had appeared reluctant to go much further.

The partnership with Northrop won’t involve anything that goes “boom” on the ground, but it could lead to full-on military missions such as reconnaissance, command and control, and troop transport. “I don’t see those as weaponizing the airplane,” Mr. Scholl said Tuesday.

It makes perfect sense for him to tap what he called “the other half of the market”: Almost all big aerospace companies cater to both and, in a choppy market that has turned its back on pre-revenue ventures like Boom, startups need new sources of capital. Military applications are, after all, where supersonic propulsion survives today, given the many impediments to its commercial use—like high carbon emissions.

Still, Boom’s acknowledging this in a flashy presentation showcases how even “sexy” startups that appeal to Silicon Valley types are now far less embarrassed to publicize their ties to the defense industry.

In recent times, the increase in Pentagon budgets and the maturity of the tech sector have driven giants like Amazon.com, Google and Oracle to bid hard for defense contracts, and given way to a crop of younger players that directly serve this market, such as Palantir, Anduril and drone maker Shield AI. Set against this, however, a renewed focus in the investment industry on environmental, social and governance factors—collectively known as ESG—has diverted money away from military contractors.

Russia’s invasion of Ukraine earlier this year seems to have laid any supposedly ethical concerns to rest at supersonic speed. Raytheon Technologies Chief Executive Greg Hayes argues that defense companies are defending democracy, and this is certainly the new narrative.

“Two years ago many of the European money funds wouldn’t touch Raytheon,” Mr. Hayes said in an interview. “All of the sudden, we’ve become investible from an ESG perspective because of our mission.”

Many Scandinavian investment companies, including SEB, have disclosed their change of heart. There are even serious lobbying attempts to push the European Union to include defense companies in its new standardized ESG taxonomy. Military stocks are up 8% this year, compared with a 16% fall for the S&P 500.

One big takeaway is that ESG talk is all but meaningless, and should be discarded in favor of stand-alone “E” metrics—the only ones that can be objectively measured without recourse to the political views du jour.

The other is that, amid rising geopolitical tensions, some of the moonshots now spurned by public markets could find solace in military funding. These include small-satellite launchers like Rocket Lab and Virgin Orbit, which are just starting to take advantage of Washington’s interest in “responsive” launches and hypersonic weapons, as well as air-taxi manufacturers such as Joby Aviation,

which are working on military applications but have de-emphasized them in favor of ill-defined passenger demand.

In a turbulent market, nothing brings certainty like money from the Pentagon.

This Sexy New Ice Cream Dance Is Everything Right About Fortnite - GameSpot

In Fortnite, there's a character who is more or less a human-sized ice cream cone with arms, legs, and--on top of everything else--a face. And this week, to kick off Fortnite's No Sweat Summer event, he's released a suggestive hip-hop song and dance about eating ice cream that's got everybody in the metaverse losing their minds in one way or another. Nobody's neutral here. Folks either love the new in-universe song by sentient ice cream cone Lil Whip, or they find it profoundly horrible.

For me, the new emote corresponding with Lil Whip's hip-hop track, Drippin' Flavor, is a masterpiece of both song and dance. But more importantly than that, it's a distillation of what has given Fortnite its staying power: this willingness to put a lot of effort into being extremely stupid.

This is one of those things that you kinda need to see for yourself, so if you haven't seen this beautiful abomination yet, you should take a moment to watch at least some of this little music video that one of Epic's content creator partners put out at the start of Fortnite's No Sweat Summer event.

Just so we all know what we're dealing with here, these are the lyrics for this part of the song: "MMMMMMM/ Lil Whip, Lil Whip Lil Whip/ MMMMMMM/ Take your pick/ Take a lick/ Just like this/ MMMMMM/ Whip it up/ Lil Whippin' in your cup/ MMMMMMM/ Lil Whippin'/ Drippin' flavor/ That's what's up."

Remember, this is a song about ice cream, so it's not sexual! It just FEELS like it is--you can't mention licking stuff in a song if you want to avoid that vibe--and that's a big part of what set off the legions of haters when we first learned about the song.

Somebody who's new here might look at this Lil Whip situation and see some kind of failure. After all, when the emote leaked on Sunday night/Monday morning, the response among the Fortnite community was nearly universally one of disgust. It's easy to see why: The vocals grated, and the lyrics seemed weirdly sexual for a song that's just about eating ice cream--Epic may have let things get out of hand with all those "MMMMMMMMM"s. And the dance definitely includes some of those pelvic motions that freaked people out a half-century ago.

But this ain't a failure. Not even remotely. Drippin' Flavor is a fun song, and the dance fully owns. I've used this thing as my victory royale celebration a few times, and I don't think I'll be using any others for my taunts any time soon. I've stood in a crowded Party Royale bathroom doing this ice cream sex dance with a horde of randoms, and it was beautiful.

Even Ariana Grande and the Xenomorph from Alien are getting in on the Lil Whip craze.
Even Ariana Grande and the Xenomorph from Alien are getting in on the Lil Whip craze.

But what really makes it work is the thing that has made Fortnite work since Epic introduced the battle royale mode: just the sheer gall of this shit. This emote is outrageous. A song about eating ice cream that has weird sexual overtones, written and performed by an ice cream cone man, and I can make Thanos and Darth Vader and Superman and Robocop and Ariana Grande do the dope suggestive dance that goes with it? This is squarely within the box of stuff that I want out of Fortnite, delivered with legitimately high quality. I'm not sure I've ever felt this pandered to by any entertainment product that wasn't directed by Michael Bay.

I'm a simple guy, you know? I didn't become a Fortnite guy because I love battle royales or because I thought it was an exceptionally fun game. No, I became a Fortnite guy because I could make Will Smith's character from the Bad Boys movies do the Gangnam Style dance. Hundreds of dollars in microtransactions and a year of "getting good" later, I'm still really just this idiot who wants to make my digital doll do a stupid dance. I play Fortnite for the memes.

And this is as meme-y as it gets, even in Fortnite. Lil Whip also exists as a non-player character in Fortnite's world who you can interact with during battle royale matches. When you find him, this guy even has some weirdly suggestive dialogue that might come up, such as: "If you don't want it in a cone, I can squirt it into a loose paper bag." That's not dirty at all, but it sure does sound like it is.

I can't get enough. Over the next week I'll probably use that Drippin' Flavor twice as much as all my other emotes combined (that's probably a conservative estimate, since I don't even want to use any of the other ones right now). It'll stay on my locker wheel maybe forever.

This song is a bop, and the dance rules, and the whole deal is divisive in a way that doesn't matter. Sounds to me like Lil Whip's Drippin' Flavor is the song of the summer.
